Premala Tara Jones, PhD
Dr. Jones is a licensed Psychologist. She earned her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Kent State University. She completed her internship at the Counseling and Testing Center at the University of Akron and carried out her post-doctorate residency in Health Psychology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. She has worked as a psychologist in the university setting as well as in patient/healthcare facilities, community agencies and private practice. She is currently completing Dr. Amen’s Brain Health Professional Certification course.
Dr. Jones has research and training interests in anxiety, grief & loss, compassion fatigue, and reproductive loss. Additionally, she has presented at national and regional conferences on reproductive loss, parenting, self-care, and compassion fatigue.
Dr. Jones enjoys time involving her faith, family, friends, & serving on local boards. Outside of work she enjoys traveling, trying new recipes, bird watching, reading, kayaking, & listening to podcasts.
Clinical Interests Include:
Holistic health psychology, integration of faith, functional nutrition, multi-cultural counseling, trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, parenting, working with first generation, traditional and nontraditional undergraduate and graduate university students.
Population served:
She works with adolescents to 65+. She enjoys working with individuals, couples, and groups.
