April Young, MA, LPCC-S, MFT
April studied Psychology at the University of Akron where she obtained her Bachelor's degree and Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy/Counseling. She completed her internship with Mentor Network (Ohio Mentor) doing intensive outpatient counseling with children and their families. She has worked in community, in-home, and private practice settings. April holds both LPCC-S (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervisory Designation) and MFT (Marriage and Family Therapy) licenses. She is certified in Prepare/Enrich, is a certified Brain Health Professional through Dr. Daniel Amen’s program, and is professionally affiliated with American Association for Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT). She also has lay Biblical counseling training.
April spends her free time making memories with her son, reading, engaging in her faith and church community, learning about new topics, and spending time with friends and family.
Clinical Interests Include:
Anxiety, coping with chronic health, depression, holistic care, spiritual identity, life transitions/stressors, premarital/marital and relationship issues, spiritual issues, and trauma.
Population served:
April works with older teens and young adults and up. She enjoys working with individuals and couples.
